It was wet, slick, and fun. Met up with Matt and Pete and headed out. Did some bunny trails first off which had a couple good sections due to the slick clay which recquired some skinny pedal, especially the big hill climb on Dutch John. On one of the hill climbs I thought I bent my bent or broke my Skyjacker shifter linkage but turns out it need an adjustment.

After a little lunch and on trail repair we managed to get underway again. Finally got around to Rocky Mtn Loop due to time constraints and only 2 vehicles were at Kodak. I played for a little while and managed to get all the way to the top of Kodak WITHOUT LOCKERS.Same thing for Budwieser rock aka Grand Stand. I did get hung at the top of Kodak and ended up pulling cable.

Once I used to winch and got just enough pressure on the line to pull the front of my Jeep and an inch or so and take some weight off the rear of the stuck crossmember, I came right over the rock. My control arms seemed to keep getting caught on grand stand so a suspesnion redesign may be in order. Other than that it was a great time by all and I'm ready to go again.

Joe and I pulled up to the outpost. Jeff and Justin were waiting on us. Joe went out to Arrowhead to unload the Isuzu and speak to Janet. Our first trail was Daniel, we made it through just fine until Joe broke a part and had to 2wd it for the rest of the trail. After we got back to the paved road Joe decided to head off to Wilmington to pick up a camper shell for his Ford. Jeff, Justin and I decided to head to the outpost for lunch before we hit another trail. After lunch we headed for Dutch John(Brandon's fovorite trail). No problem to report on that trail we made it through fine.

Sora members there were Jeffrey Edmundson,Justin,Joe and Jeff Mclamb
Sora members missed Ed,Nick,B-dub and Josh

Even though the trip had a few set backs due to thing beyond our control it was a blast and I hope this will get this club a good kick. Justin will have the pictures up soon...

SUV OR TRUCK JUSTIN NOT CAR!!

SORA is rebuilding itself.

SORA is currently in the process of rebuilding itself as an offroad club. In the past we have had upwards of 30 members. This may not seem like a lot to clubs that hand out memberships to anyone, but to SORA it was a lot. We don't mind being small because it allows us to know all our members while still having enough members to throw a trail ride together in a moments notice.

No general location is necessary to join. I am located in Wilmington (LA to be exact), but we have members all over the east part of North Carolina. We generally don't care what you bring to wheel, as long as its what you like.

If you are interested in joining then just sign up on the forums, introduce yourself, and see if we are the club for you.

Our next ride is August 12th, to Uwharrie National Forest.
